John "LJ" Stensgar, Jr.

Project Coordinator

 John β€œLJ” Stensgar, Jr. was one the founding Council of Guides for the L.I.G.H.T. Foundation.  


LJ resides in Washington state with his beautiful wife and has raised 5 wonderful children. His hobbies include golfing, hunting, snowboarding, fishing, traveling, and gathering native roots and herbs. He has trained and participated in the 2022 Coeur d'Alene Ironman and numerous ju jitsu competitions.


Over the years, LJ has served on various boards and oversight committees. He has previously volunteered on the Colville Indian Housing Board, Lake Roosevelt Community Health Centers Board, and with the Safety and Training Committe of for the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation (CTCR).  He has also worked with the CTCR Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program, and enjoyed participating on the Planning Committee for the Northwest Native Youth Conference.  


LJ earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Gonzaga University and associate's degree in arts and science from Wenatchee Valley College, where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
